Rediscovering John 3:16–18

Busy café interior with customers drinking coffee, eating pastries, and chatting

Series Introduction

John 3:16–18 is among the most familiar passages in Scripture. Yet familiarity often causes us to recognize the words without stopping to consider their meaning. This investigative series examines the passage one word at a time, allowing John’s Gospel to define its own vocabulary and Scripture to interpret Scripture. Our goal is not to discover something new, but to rediscover what has become so familiar that its meaning and intent are often overlooked.
